Reading - Literature Circles

In Room 12B, for literacy, we have been focusing on our literature circles. For our literature circles, we have gotten into small groups, and we each have the same book. Each day, we choose where we are going to read to in our groups and each discuss about the book the next day. In our group, we are reading a book called Brave Bess. The story is about a war horse who was one of the only survivors, and what it was like in war and how it felt for her. We each have different jobs to do each night, my two jobs are being the artful artist and the discussion director. For the artful artist, I create a piece of art to do with the story, and the discussion director I come up with questions for the group to answer.

Pick A Path - Writing

Room 12B have been creating a piece of writing, to do with sustainability. We have been given a task to either write about; Moving to a new planet, (because our one now has been destroyed), or thinking up your own topic to do with sustainability. We have created these on slides, so we can link to different pages; for E.G, You find a whale in a net, what do you do? Cut the net free, or Ignore It. We have linked these into sustainability; because our focus this term is on sustainability, saving the planet. My Pick A Path is about saving the whales, I chose this because some people have a thing for capturing whales, sometimes killing them. In our stories, we go on an adventure, the aim is to complete the Pick A Path and to either save our planet, or save whales, or whatever topic you chose!
